Excessive smoke from exhaust? Causes?

So I started up my car yesterday.....brand new motor..

car starts, but is throwing a ton of smoke from the exhaust...check it out and see that it's oil...and a lot of it.

switched off when we realized it wasn't stopping.

what could be the causes of this?
two things to keep in mind is that this is a brand new motor and turbo kit.

someone was saying something about a restrictor for the turbo oil line?

any other reasons this could happen...just want to get a few ideas so I can double check and find the cause.

Restrictor for the turbo.. Could have too big of feed line causing the seals to blow and causing oil to seap into the exhaust. On ball bearing should be no bigger than -3 on the feed. Just a thought if it's pouring out like you say.

Best way to check is just pull the downpipe off and see if you got oil build up you'll know then what's up.

A lot of new motors smoke a bit until the rings fully seat but the smoking usually isn't as dramatic as you state.

Who built the motor?

^that's what I know but it was a hell of a lot of smoke.

It's a brand new motor from AMS...built by them...0 miles.

not yet^

I will tomorrow though....I wasn't surprised at the smoke at first...but when I realized it wasn't stopping I got concerned.

I changed the restrictor on the turbo..got one from a friend which was a little smaller...gonna try starting again and see what happens.

Also pulled down the turbo and had a look...but all seems well.
