I used to have APS and loved it. that was in my stock turbo days but I only upgraded to a tial because I didnt have to satisfy the ECU anymore when I went to speed density

APS is recirc bov, it uses stock location. What makes you think it is not recirc bov?

APS will never stall out, b/c it recirc, it only vent partial pressure out. Look at the design of APS bov and you'll understand.

I ran the APS Dual vent on my WRX when I had it and it is an excellent blowoff valve! Not sure if you will be recirculating, but under higher boost levels it will blow off the higher pressure to the atmosphere while under low boost levels it will recirculate to the intake. I called it the "smart" BOV. But I am new to this community so whether that on an EVO would work well or not is another ballgame.

From what I've read, there are two good options:

1) APS dual vent - Gets generally excellent review, but a few people have complained that it needs frequently cleaning (every 5K miles) to provide good performance.

2) Stock Evo IX DV with a Dejon Stop Leak Kit. This has all the driveability of the stock DV, but with extra boost holding capacity (easily to 30 psi).

Option 2 is about $50 cheaper, and the Evo IX DV is a proven daily driver performer, so that's what I bought. Haven't had time though to install it to provide a review.

What's a zing ...

I wish you had updated your original thread. I leaned towards the Forge because you said it held more boost than the aps. Your reviews are like the holy grail ...THe forge really does drive like a$$...part throttle it's like a roller coaster.

I said the forge holds more boost than the APS if that was the case it was because I had in in backwards

Just to make it clear. The APS BOV NEVER vents 100% atmospherically. Unless you're at full boost, depending on how stiffly you have it set, it will only vent as much as 50% or lower atmospherically.

APS is the way to go. I'm surprised that the Forge was even considered. It's worth the x-tra cash. Driveability is superior!
