This is true. While running this on my WRX a while back, I was running 20psi. If I had her floored and let off at 20psi, she would vent atmospherically hard like a compressor fitting popping off. (nice and loud) but under partial boost, it would recirculate just like stock. Personally, I loved the APS when I ran it.

+1 for the APS. Had it almost 4 years now and still love it!

Also, if you look at the design of it, you can see that it will never fully vent VTA. Depending on the boost level, the plunger will move appropriately and either dump to one port or to both. But not one or the other.

it really is a fantastic BOV and I'm so glad I stumbled upon it awhile back. I've been regularly boosting to 30-35psi without any problems. It drove perfectly when I was at 400awhp and it still does at 600awhp. It's quite possibly the only BOV you'll ever need.

Sorry to bump but, I was reading about tefflon taping the spring. Would you need to do if your only running 24psi? Im looking to buy this BOV to try to solve a idle problem im having on my Stock 9 DV.

I don't have a log in for that forum
You are definitly right about the 9 BOV. Anything over 23psi and my BOV would leak and kill power... This was tested on the dyno up at AMS. But once the BOV was modified it holds 32psi with NO problem. The car jumped from 480WHP to 520WHP just by modifying the BOV "no tuning" so it didnt leak on the dyno and this was at 28psi. Of course now the BOV is pretty tight but with my 35R driveability isnt an issue for me anyways.

APS all day everyday. i will be going to that bov most likely with my set up. buddy used that on his set up and had no problems with high boost 28+psi. u can recirulate it for the great driviblity. i have done a good amount of research on that DV and hands down one of the best on the market

I have the Forge adjustable recirc, I get hard compressor surge if I try. I could most likely turn it down a little so that it releases the air a little smoother, but it is fun freaking out friends with the chewbacca noise (what they call it). If I don't try to surge, spool then go to partial throttle, it drives perfectly. You can flip it 2 ways to have it make 2 different sounds, if anyone cares; thought I put it on the wrong way, and discovered it is reversible.

I like my APS. It bucks on occasion, but my stock plastic VIII bucked a WHOLE lot more. It can hold atleast 25psi, that I know of.

Option 2 is about $50 cheaper, and the Evo IX DV is a proven daily driver performer, so that's what I bought. Haven't had time though to install it to provide a review.
Did you get a chance to install the Dejon Stop Kit on the IX DV? The kit sounds theoretically nice, so I'm interested to hear what your real-world impressions are.

how does the turbosmart BOV fair in this post...just curious
the dejon kit sounds like a good idea but the thought of possibly ruining the stocker
doesnt go well with me
unless they offer the service

Not yet, I kinda put hardware mods on old for a little while because of winter. I'll probably do it some time in late-Feb or after I come back from vacation in late March.

I've had my used APS twin vent for maybe a year now, haven't needed to adjust or clean it, still very happy with it. Boosting to ~33psi daily and that's not some brief spike, that's to redline ~ 8-9k
