Good setup. Do the JE pistons you run have the skirts coated now? I've heard they are a good piston but the old ones made a lot of noise? Thanks for the input.

Why would you build a motor when you can buy something that is proven and basically bulletproof??

Any GOOD builder can do exactly what DB does, not taking anything away from him, but its the truth. Maybe he has a very good machinest doing his work a bit cheaper....

Dan

Is this a street car or a full blow race car?

I agree that a GOOD machinist can line hone, bore hone, check bearing clearances and that sort of stuff.

But a GOOD machinists can not make up for the 20 years of experience building one particular motor, finding out all the little quirks it may have and the special little things you have to do in order for it to make 600whp day in and day out and still hold itself together.

Yes, the JE's are coated on the skirts now.

I also agree a good machinist can do machine work. Finding the tolerances that work, the parts combinations that work and other such things that keep them together for thousands of miles driving daily at 600+ whp..........that takes some experience, November will be 20 years of racing and building parts for the 4g63's for me.
