9 turbo vs 8(10.5) hotside

Just picked up a IX turbo for my 05VIII. I searched but couldnt find any data on how much more hp a IX turbo makes over an VIII with the 10.5 hotside at the same boost level. Is this just a small increase, or something significant?

If anyone has a graph or just plain hp differences with no other changes than the turbo that would be great!

At least now i can eventually send the IX turbo in for the RED upgrade when they arent so back logged with work.
Now i just have to find someone to buy my 10.5 hotside, let me know if there is interest there.

Thanks!

A solid 10whp, maybe more if you're running alky or E85. When I did this, I had already ported my 10.5 hotside and had the buschur SS o2 housing installed, so I just unbolted the center cartridge and swapped out turbos, leaving all exhaust components in place. It took about an hour or so, and was well worth it!

Turbo has 63,000 miles on it. Has shaft play side to side, but no in and out play. No broken bolts or studs, came apart perfect!

Pm me your offer

except for the fact you can send the 9 in for the red upgrade from fp. Then you can expect about 150whp gain on pump!

it depends on what year your evo 8 is....2005 evo 8 with a 9 turbo will see a little gain but an 2003-2004 evo 8 will see a better gain bc the evo 8's have 9.8 turbine housing and the 05s and 9's have 10.5 turbine housings....so it would be a really good gain on an 03-04

Any other choices to source the lines? $170 is kinda pricey. Can i just bend my 8 lines to fit?
