I'm looking to build an engine for straight performance, but being that my evo is my DD i'm building a second so i can keep going to school and work. what i need help on is, i need to know if a 4g63 from an eclipse is the same base block as an evo VIII, can't seem to find a block from an evo but there are alot of wrecked eclipses. please help out.

 

There have been many evos with 450+ whp that are still daily drivers. I understand what you are saying that you need to rely on your evo as your DD - no down time. But if you plan your mods out and do your research of the parts you can at least get the basics down and still keep it DD.

 

The blocks are not the same, they are 180*.

 

Yeah, the cam gears are on the driver side :P
