pcv and ccv question

well, noticing that when letting off gas, or spool up my car is going rich....

now i belive i put on a breather filter before i noticed this, but i can be wrong...but if these valves , especially the crank case valve are opening releasing air, could this be a problem?

should they remain closed under wot?....

can they be purchased? ....how do weknow if they are indeed bad?

thanks for assistance

Check these out for a lower-priced solution instead of Dejon's:

Myself and many other Evo's that I know of are running these things with great results.

Bump for some info as well. I would rather get a breather filter or one of the krank vents.

They should never go bad, but if for some reason you feel they are sticking or not functioning properly you just need to spray them out with some brake cleaner.

than maybe i'm just not understanding how they are working...why when boost testing you have to cap them off...why do they bleed when applying air

Very simple, they come with some basic instructions but if you need anything shoot me a PM since I've installed a few sets on friends' cars.

There is no need to cap them off when testing for boost leaks.

This setup is ok too, but the drawback is you don't have vacuum sucking the gasses out of the crankcase while in boost.

I personally run a catch-can between the crank vent on the breather tube and the intake pipe so I get the best of both worlds.

Dude I have a set of those on my evo, they ROCK! They hold boost very very well and you can switch them all around for whatever your setup demands. Running one inbetween the PCV and the IM and one from the valve cover to a catch can, then to an intake pipe is probably an ideal setup.

I put a set on my wife's VW GLI as well, works great!
