i learn from my mistakes. i shouldve built my motor sooner and now i have to spend more than i wouldve last year, and i had to get towed home when all my friends still went to the track. i say build when you have the chance.

Yep, its always much more expensive to build the motor when you blow up the good core you could have used.. Live and learn..

How hard is it do a swap like that, like getting the engine built, hooking up the wire harness, and such? Does it take a lot of measuring and calculations to get the motor put together? Or is it as simple as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvNpyF6YM7o

i would rec. to have all the measuring done that way you know everything is going together properly. if the clearences are too loose or too tight youll loose the bearings. than youll have to do it again. should do it right the first time.

Go ahead and send it out to Buschur... I had my motor rebuilt by a shop (not gonna metion names) that was not EVO specific... lets just say, Its 9 months later and I have to rebuild it again... Had I just gone with Buschur the first time... I would still be good.

Can I just hand them 10 grand and tell them to just build a nasty motor?

I don't know much about rebuilding motors, I've always just stuck to bolt-ons. I'm mechanically inclined, I work on CH-53's.

I think thats the ultimate setup.. The Red doesnt make much power over 8k and the Stroker is limited to 8500 so the low end it will bring into the equation will be awesome.. Ill keep you guys posted!!

Keep in mind that the 2.3 flows as much air at 8k as the 2.0 does at 9k rpm.

What Branch and where are you stationed? I was in the Marines, AVI tech on Hueys and Cobras stationed at New River.

Anyways.... like I said before send the motor to Buschur, they are by far proven to be the best.
