Either 2 in tank or 1 in tank and and 1 inline depending on your overall power goals. 1000s max one pump, so adding another pump doesnt really gain a ton, but it does allow for more down the road.

1200s are the usual limit, though I havent run the new FIC that Razorlab talked about. The older FIC 1600s do not work so friendly on the street, at least at low rpm (not too many 1600s will though...so no surprise) on my car with the stock ECU.

there's been some people trying to do the 1 in take and 1 inline for high hp applications and it doesn't seem to be keeping up as good as something like the buschur twin pump (both in tank)

I'm using them (FIC 1250s) now. So far, no issues I couldn't overcome, but what is the limitation of injector scaling with the factory ECU? It seems that anything greater than some figure doesn't make any difference. LOL

At least some of the advertised 1600s (if not all of them) are pintle types, which have much longer latencies due to the heavier mechanism, and will tend to lose resolution and efficiency at low duty.

Ted, he was referencing the new FIC blueMax 1450cc's. I have a customer using them and they seem to work just fine.
