OK magnaflow installed. Fits perfect, sounds great, not loud, and not quite either just right. Wife and infant approved!
I should mention that I installed a magnaflow cat too, that might be why its so quite.

It added alot of power too.

Great discussion.

I had my listed narrowed down to the Tanabe Medalion Touring. Now I read on this thread that it does taper down from 3". How much? Also I found from Tanabe that "The medalion touring exhaust for the lancer evolution 8 weighs 45 lbs with the box ." That seems pretty heavy so probably no weight savings from stock. Not sure how much the box and packing would weigh.

I was also considering:
HKS Silent Hi Power
Greddy SP2 - Was this replaced with the SE model?

Magnaflow Ti - Turbomagazine review states it's pretty quiet (http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/04...ust/index.html)
Also, it weighs 11 pounds vs. 34 pounds for stock per Turbo Mag.
I haven't seen where to buy this yet.

Are there any other somewhat quiet Ti exhaust.

Anyways thought I would add what I've found so far.

I'm going to pick up the Tanabe Touring Medallion. I've heard great things and will post up a review soon.

I posted the weights, and somewhat of a review, for the tanabe exhaust vs stock. It was probably a yr ago but I don't have a lot of posts so it shouldn't be hard to find if you search for posts by me. I don't remember the weight saved, but it is lighter. The factory muffler is heavy.

I still like this exhaust. It seems to get a little louder with age but is a good compromise for power vs noise for someone that isn't looking to build a highly modified car.
