The GD Pro from HKS as well as the triple disk clutches from Exedy/Cusco, PE are solid hub, hence quite nasty engagement, but great for the uber high HP cars and unmatched grip.

Ken if you can swing buy and take me for a drive I'll let you know the deal - sounds normal though from your description

Hope I didn't confuse you... that is the Cusco top and HKS bottom... my lacking skills just ran them together...

so the exedy triple is going to give you crap engagment? I was thinking about getting this for my daily driver, is this a bad choice? What would the engagment be like?

I drove Nastea's car with Exedy twin-plate. Very precise engagement, but you could feel how it easy it would be to slip it. I am sure it would make for outstanding launches. I didn't go too hard on it since it was still pretty new, but I was very impressed. There was very little chatter and the engagement was direct, but not enough to make the car pogo when driving off from a stop.

We've had a lot of luck with the Exedy Twin Plates. Our customers do complain of more drivetrain noise, and in some cases slight vibration, but overall are very pleased. What you are experiencing is completely normal. The engagement is awesome on these clutches.

We do stock these, and have out 3 units left. They do go quickly though. We're also offering a 20% off coupon code. Sorry, shameless plug

In my experience, the whine that some have heard is likely the normal decel noise accompanied by an awd car with a multi-disc clutch. If you are unsure about your fluids, then check them

I have the Exedy Hyper single disc also & it's annoying as Sh*t, it rattles when decelerating....i hate it!

Hooks good though, but i'm sure they're other clutches that'll do the same & make less noise.

How is the clutch life longevity in a twin disc compared to a single disc ? Would the twin disc last longer ?

Also, how would you know for sure if your clutch is starting to go bad ?

Not fair since the Cusco is carbon/carbon (although Exedy has just released their dual carbon).

Exedy manufactures the Cusco and HKS clutches.

True but the clutches are still different. So the carbon aspect of it all does make the cusco the better buy?

The carbon plates are more durable and less prone to problems from slipping. If you plan on drag-racing the car, carbon/carbon is the way to go. I am pretty sympathetic mechanically and I don't drag race, so a carbon/carbon clutch should last me a LONG time...

Just for an update the Exedy dual carbon clutch is a whopping 3,167.10!!! It can handle 1000+ HP and is the same technology used on F-1 cars. Umm can we say OVERKILL
