HTA35R and E85?

i'm starting to save up for my HTA35R kit from buschur and i really want to run E85 but i'm concerned about the fuel situation....I would use the double pumper, and buschurs fuel pressure regualtor but i'm wondering what size injectors i could use to get the full potential out of the turbo? Also i hear that bigger injectors like 1600cc are hard to tune for idle but that doesn't go for everything else does it? all you E85 gurus and HTA owners could give me suggestions that would be awesome!

I think 14XX are about the higest anyone has been able to run succsesfully on the stock ECU.

I believe John Bradley had a heck of a time with the 1600's getting them to idle properly

You might want to look into people running E85 with 1600cc's, since the E85 requires so much fuel, it should be easier to tune than pump gas, since the IDC will be higher at idle vs. pump. However you wouldn't have the flexibility of, say FIC 1450s on pump gas.

maybe 1200cc = bumped base fuel pressure + twin pumps will work

The problem with the large, slow 1600s may not be with E85, but it will be with 93. I have a set of 1250cc that I am using with this exact arrangement (35R, twin pumps, E85). Theoretically, that should be good for somewhere just north of 600whp with E85 IF there are no complications, but that remains to be demonstrated.

I'm on a ETS PT61mm turbo running E85 with DeatschWerks 1600cc Fuel injectors, Bosch 044 Fuel Pump, and a Aeromotive Fuel Presure Regulator for a fuel system all done on stock Ecu we made 500.4whp on a Mustang Dyno. Little idle problem but it should be able to be tuned out. Once I have more info on the idle situation i'll let you know but 1600's on e85 and stock Ecu is doable just a little harder to tune just right.

yes... because with 1000cc PTEs and a green turbo on e85, I am at 86% idc....trapping 123 in a full weight 05 gsr.

Yeah sounds about right. Hey Mellon, did you build your motor before the 10.4 run?

The only problem with running a smaller injector, like a 1200, is that you probably max out your duty cycles very quickly. I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up somewhere 90-95%, which isn't a good thing.
As for tuning for idle, it depends on you're ecu setup. On a standalone, I don't think it'd be terribly hard. On a flash, you're definitely pushing the limits.
