Is there something wrong with my AEM Tru Boost?

My car has a DC Sports downpipe, GReddy Ti, drop-in filter, Tru Boost and AMS flash. The Tru Boost spikes at 23-24 psi. However, it put down "only" 293 whp on AMS's dyno. Granted, it was a hot day, but we're talking about a IX here, and I'm sure that is quite low with those mods.

Last night I did a quick pull on the highway in third and noticed that, while it does spike at 23-24, it falls off to 16-17 by the time it hits redline. Is this normal? I have a feeling it isn't. And I have a hunch it could be why the car didn't make as much power as I would have liked.

I had the Tru Boost installed by a different shop and haven't changed anything since. I have heard they're not the easiest things to set up correctly. What should I look into changing to get it to hold boost better? Or is the boost fall-off normal?

what wastegate actuator do you have? What number do you have for the SPR? You should look into adjusting the spring pressure for the wastegate to make sure its set right so that it doesn't taper as much.

I may be wrong but the experience I have with the Tru Boost is that it always tapers the boost. Many others seem to have the same findings, although your taper seems to be more dramatic than most see.

I have not checked. I will today. What do people usually run?

yes, it's normal to taper boost like that, running 23 psi at redline on pump would be very hard on your engine or a lot to ask out of pump gas

Remember this boost controller stays closed until it hits the 'WG' (I cant remember off hand) parameter. Then it goes to the % duty cycle. So if you have it set for 23 psi and the 24% duty cycle it will spike like that. I learned this when I had beeen running high boost, then I switched fuel and lowered the boost. Try lowering that number and your spikes will stop.

mine tapered as well. 26- maybe 23,22 even. your stock airbox also will make your boost fall off above 6k rpm.

I think there might be something wrong with it, or at least how I'm using it.

I'm trying to adjust the wastegate crack pressure. So it's both buttons to enter Menu, both buttons to go to the first setting (Units), both buttons to go to the second, and so on, right? Well, mine refuses to go past Units. I get to Units and it starts flashing UNI and PSI. I hold both buttons and let go. It keeps flashing UNI and PSI. It doesn't matter how long or short I hold them. Anyone else experience this?
