APEXi Hayabusa Super Light Muffler

What do you guys think of this exhaust? It weighs 7.8 kg, while the stock Evo VII exhaust weighs 17 kg.

Has anyone ever used this exhaust? What does it sound like? Is it all stainless steel? Any other details you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think that last picture says it all Rax. Definitely looks nice wonder how it sounds though. I don't want something that I'll hear over my subwoofers now.

I hate to say it but in that picture above, the WRX beats the EVO in looks....The EVO just doesnt look good when de-badged (imho). and that silver WRX looks kinda good. GRRRRRRR, count to ten....evo is better 1. evo is better 2. ...........

20 WHP gain with a good exhaust is common, seeing the Evo is a turbo car and mod's affect are amplified.

my 2 cents only complaint on the hayabusa is the low RPM range output, the scale of the graph doesnt make it as aparent as it is but power and torque loss is quite substantial, due to its main pipe size... well but end of the day i'm stickin with it, coz my friend has it on his VI, and its simply perfect, has that growl that strikes fear into all unworthy drivers on the street... hehehe

Don't loose low end with an exhaust

I have seen on the nology website, a butterfly valve that goes inline with the exhaust, and keeps the back pressure up at low rpm and lets the air flow at high revs. additionally it will help relieve some of the noise and roughness in the low end.

shamus

ps also saw a referanca to a similar product in an issue of automotice engineering, so my guess is that it works pretty well, and as soon as i have the money it will be part of my exhaust and i will let everyone know how it works.

yeah thats tru, Apexi has developed an exhaust control valve, which looks exactly like the Arospeed one. I wonder how well it works (namely durability issues, because it says the valve is linked by only a wire)

if controlable exhaust is ur thing, you could also look at the JIC Spartan 503 (i think.. or was it the 505?) which was built to fully open and close...

Getting excited?

Loneeeemee,

are you getting exhaust pipe envy?...otherwise you're starting to sound aroused by the size.

The piping is about 3.189 " and I am getting info on this exhaust to sell. The Dyno is correct , 20 WHP gain on a Mustang AWD dyno over a stock Evo. It is made for the Evo VII but is an absolute PERFECT fit for USDM Evo VIII (test fitted by a friend of DRC Imports) with NO bumper clearance issues or rubbing. MORE TO COME !!

Look for DRC Iports to start selling these by Monday !
