3 CEL Fix and still an SES Light

Need help guys. I am trying to get my car smogged but I can"t get my SES light to disappear. I have three CEL fixes already. I have had my TBE for 1 year already and I did not put the CEL fix due to hanging so low and just had the SES light on. I have driven my car for about 8000 miles with a TBE and O2 sensor plugged directly. I visited Autozone and they are saying it is the bank 1 2nd O2 sensor... Do you guys think i should replace the o2 sensor itself?

you cant have it plugged directly in the exhaust. I tried that and got a code so I got a cel fix and no more code.

Shoot. Need to go back there. They didn't give me the code. Just said it's the Back 1 second sensor.

What i mean is that I plugged it in directly and didn't mind the code for about a year (8000 miles). Didn't worry about the SES light before since this is my first time smogging it.. Do you guys think this messed up my O2 sensor?

your code is P0420, and you can replace the o2 sensor, restart the ecu and you will get a CEL light again after 300 miles...
try just buying a spooler on Ebay.. it attaches on o2 sensor and gets rid of the CEL.. thats what I have on right now and works great..

if its bank 1 o2 sensor, then its definitely P0420. He has a TBE, eaither with high flow cat or delete pipe.. even if he replaces o2 senor, he will still get the code because it will read too low...
I dont understand how come the CEL fix is not getting rid of the code.. Are you running any of them, or you just have them sitting in garage??

what do u mean 3 cel fixes? Im confused. Did you make a fouler urself or did u buy it from somewhere? I bought the extension piece from speedelement worked fine. Now I bought an angled piece on ebay and works fine too.

why would u buy two more extensions? The one i got from speedelement worked fine, the only problem I got was since it virtually is an extension piece, once i screwed in the o2 sensor to it, the end of my o2 sensor was hitting the underside of the car. It would rattle from time to time so thats why I got an angled cel fix instead and now no cel light and no rattles

dam really i guess I just been having good luck with the cel fix. My car didn't even throw a code until a week later after i had the o2 directly in there. I'm running hks carbon ti catback with helix hfc. Just get the angled on on ebay its like 30 bucks.

Btw, this may sound stupid but when you put the extension piece on, you did reset the battery right to clear the code?
