Stock Throw Out Bearing Rattle

Hey,
I just picked up an Evo IX after trying to find one with low miles, yet the one I purchased seems to have a throw out bearing rattle with 10,000 miles on it. Is this typical and is there anything i should worry about? I am also not sure if it is the stock clutch or not, based on what I've found out from friends that own them it seems a little different then stock, and the fact that the car has an AMS front mount with Wahlbro fuel pump + an extremely clean set up makes me feel as though it was used for track purposes before and the kid probably stripped everythingn else off before selling it....

anybody heard of this before?? suggestions?

Thanks

There is a little plug about the size of a 50 cent peice on the tranny that you remove when doing a clutch job. If you can jack up the car you may be able to stick a small inspection mirror (the ones that are the size of a quarter) and have a look at the clutch.

That would be my suggestion to determine what clutch you have.

I think it was evomoto who used to have a clutch how-to. That should show you the hole I am talking about. It is used to disconnect the clutch fork from the TOB....If I remember correctly. It has been a while since I pulled my tranny.

My TOB always chattered on the stock clutch, and even chatters a little bit on my new ACT HDSS when your foot is off the clutch pedal.. The shop that put it in says "it is pretty common from an aftermarket clutch." But I don't know, mine didn't do it as bad with the stock clutch as it does with the ACT. Mine only did it when you weren't pushing in the pedal??

I want to fit a battery that works better for it, but I can't find one that will fit the spot...
