radiator install. No more heater??
Hi all I just finished installing my radiator and Im sure everything is hooked up right but i dont get any hot air when i put the heater on. Is this normal and after a while of driving the radiator will pick up on it and blow hot air? I just got the radiator repaired and cleaned out so Im pretty positive im not leaking or anything. Is there maybe something i forgot to do that would affect this?
Are you positive it's full of fluid? Check it again and again. Perhaps get a coolant flush; you could have something blocking your heater hoses. Heck, make sure they're not pinched or something, they feed off of the back of the thermostat housing and the water pipe under the IM and meet on the firewall where they go into the cabin.
Maybe you left a rag in your heater hose? Problems like these are easily solveable. There are only a certain amount of reasons why your heater won't function after a rad install. Is your vehicle overheating at all? Is there any coolant leaking anywhere?

no coolant leaking. no overheating. Ill check the heater hoses but i dont think so.
I dont think I topped off the radiator but I filled up atleast 3/4 of a gallon with coolant and my overflow tank is filled to the top.

yea, i bet you have a whole crap load of air in your system. turn the car on with the radiator cap off (assuming your car is cool already) then jsut let it idle. You will see the bubbles coem up and the level of the fluid drop.
Ive heard what my jdm said and just wait till thermostat opens. Or just let the car warm up if you get lazy. When i did my radiator isntall, i put in a full gallons worth of coolant, mixed 50/50 so close to 2 gallons of liquid. good luck

As said above most likely air in the system.
Does your temp needle move at all after driving long enough the car should be warm? If the sensor isn't submerged in water it won't read anything and your heater core definitely won't work.

It should take more then 3/4 of a gallon, so there is prob a air pocket somewhere in your radiator. Let it cool down pop your radiator cap fill it all the way and let it run for 20 min with the cap off. then make sure your reservoir is full too.
