What would you do? 10.5 vs 50trim turbo

Car:
03 evo8
48k miles
3" turboback- test pipe
rmr filter

I have a 10.5 hotside and a megan o2 housing collecting dust that i wanted to put on, but it got me thinking- i have a built turbo civic collecting dust and it has a precision sc50 50trim turbo .63 a/r. What should I do?

I'm looking for streetable power since going from a 1.6L motor with the 50trim was lag city!

would you run the 50trim on your car with a dnp or sbr manifold? or would you stick with the 10.5 hotside upgrade?

looking for only pump gas setups, and meth/alcky not in the near future.

Thanks

Honestly if your not gonna run meth or race gas then just throw the 10.5 on.

why
the 50 trim blows more air than a 10.5 hot so i could make more power with less boost which means less hot air going in the motor

You could piece together a turbo kit pretty cheaply especially considering that you already have the turbo. I would run the 50 trim; you can still make great power on pump gas. I've tuned my 50 trim up to 29psi on pump 93 and it will hold ~28psi to redline. 50 trim is a great pump gas turbo and should get you low to mid 400's at the wheels assuming you have all supporting mods.

do the 10.5 and o2 housing, put the money you would spend on the turbo kit parts on an aquamist kit and then save up for a FP RED or CBRD BBK, they'll own 50-trim in reliability, streetability, and power. 50 trim was an awesome setup in early 2000's, but the technology has moved past them now IMHO.

With turbo's like the fp red out their now buying a turbo kit for just a 50 trim is a waste.. but the only nice thing is if you get a kit you can swap on way bigger turbo's then the fp red, not limited to the stock mani.

to clarify all i would need is a manifold and 02 housing and possibly custom work for the LICP. I have a tial wg, and the 50trim precision turbo

50trim = Pump gas king and almost no turbo lag on a 2.0L

Excellent for daily driving and road racing
On a 2.3 is wicked

You could get a Rev Hard Cast Manifold and just fabricate the other pipes...

IIRC, unless you've got a reverse scroll 50trim, it's not going to work.

Yep. Like your stock turbo TD05HR-16G6-9.8T

The R = reverse scroll. It spins in the reverse direction.

You don't need a reverse scroll turbo to run a 50 trim.....as long as it has a T3 flange it will work with most aftermarket manifolds.
