Is 30psi on stock turbo 2 much???
I ran 26psi peak for about a year, then upgraded to an IX turbo about a year ago. I've been running 29psi (peak) tapering to 24 at 7k (gm bcs ftw!) daily. Turbo is fine, more boost doesn't always mean more power, but it certainly doesn't hurt
Also, anybody know of John Drew in the Chicagoland area? He is supposedly running 31psi on stock turbo running high 10's? This is what I have heard from a lot of DSM owners. Anyone care to chime in?
30psi on meth, racegas, or E85 is not uncommon on a stock turbo (I know someone that was running a 34psi spike
).
Most of the time this will work for longer than the motor lasts. Sometimes you get that turbo that doesnt, but I have seen an easy 30,000 at that level. I run this everyday on the stocker that is currently on my car and ran the Green that way for 36,000 miles before I took it off and its currently on another car doing eaxctly the same.

Actually you can run a 30psi spike on pumpgas as long as the timing is good and the spike doesnt hold for an extended period of time. We had 3 cars at our last dyno day that the owners intentionally set up this way and then had us tune.
30psi for about 2yrs now used to hold 26[26.5 at redline. Since adding cams and wastegate, most I can hold is 25psi @ redline. Without meth and failsafes I wouldn't recommend. Once I change out my clutch discs and add headstuds I'll be going for 32psi till I save up for a red.
