Will a standard OBD-II scan tool pull ABS codes?

just as the title implies. im wanting to know if a OBD-II / Controller Area Network scanner can be used as an ABS code scan tool as well.. thanks in advance!!

i dont think so since the OBO2 is an onboard diagnostic tool it will only throw sensor codes..

if u got an ABS problem, your ABS light will come on.

i don't know of any program to read the code though!

but the ABS should be a simple system to diagnose the old fashion way of inspecting by eye, what problem u got?

a regular obdII scanner does not read abs codes - i had an abs code on last year and tried like 4 different scanners and none of them worked - try cleaning all your abs sensors on the wheel hubs - brake cleaner does the trick for it

well i dont actually have a problem but i just bought a obd2 scan tool and wanted to know if i still need abs scanner as well.. thanks for the replies

Standard OBD II scanners will not scan ABS or SRS codes. You need different programs to read the codes from those computers

The one you have linked in your other thread should though
