Question Should I make my own Exhaust pipe?

So I have been slowly piecing together my WORKS TBE. So far I have the DP, HFC, and the ABM (coming soon). That last piece I'll need is the Intermediate pipe. My buddy and I were looking at it, and we think I would be better off just making my own. He works at a exhaust shop so he knows what he's doing. My question is, if I make my own Intermediate pipe will it be any different than one from WORKS. Thanks,

Drew

This is a simple weldment of a pipe and 2 flanges. If you can get the materials cheap, weld it up yourself and save some money.... this is easy compared to some other projects, there's no technology in this part.

I know it's pretty easy, just wondering if there is anything special about the way aftermarket companys make the exhaust that I wont be able to duplicate. Thanks for the reply.

3" 304 stainless steal tubing

Nothing special. If you need a mendrel bender and dont have one, then cut and weld from a U tubing, also found at that sight.

The works IP has a SS resonator on it. If you do not use one your exhaust will be louder than the works one.

I agree that the hardest part will be making the bends, last I heard no one in Humboldt has a mandrel bender. It also wouldn't be that hard to follow bluEVOIX's advice and piece it together out of some u bends. I run a full 3" system on my car, PM me if you want to stop by and check it out (lost my camera LOL).

Is not having resonator going to affect performance, and if so in a good way or bad way?

I know the exhaust will be a little louder without it, but will it still sound the same just louder. I love how WORKS exhaust sounds, that's why I'm trying to get their exhaust. Just dont have the money for all of it.
