Advantage of WG Dump (Vent to Atmosphere)?

[Searched already] - Maybe a stupid question nonetheless

What is the mechanical advantage of using dump tubes to vent exhaust to the atmosphere when the wastegate(s) open?

Why does this seem to be the "preferred" way (instead of reintroducing the exhaust into the exhaust system after the turbocharger)?

-shorter pipe so it must be cheaper.
-Easier to install?

You didn't search correctly nor search hard enough.
All you have to do is type O2 dump then you'll find related threads.
Here is one for you https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=342112

Less flex/stress on your downpipe/02 dump.

Less backpressure.

Lower EGT's.

90% of it is sound lol. I love it too I dont think it will effect EGT's noticably granted you have a large enough exhaust.

EGT's are heavily dependent on you're tune and turbo setup, exhaust after the turbo has a MINIMAL effect on EGT's

It does help alleviate some pressure in the exhaust system. Higher power set-ups have seen some pretty significant gains when dumping the wastegate.

Whats the benefit of having a 0.8 bar wastegate spring compared to having a 1.8 bar wastegate spring?
