evo gone wrong
so i posted before about how my evo would make a loud pop in 5th gear at like 4.5k or 5k rpms. turns out it does it whenever im WOT. whatever gear. its as if it cuts out, pops and goes, cuts out, pops and goes. any ideas?
no codes have been thrown. how could it be a fuel cut if im nowhere near redline or top speed? im just accelerating at WOT. i have a tbe, o2 housing, and a drop in filter. im waiting on a new spark plug cover cause the one i have is cracked

I'm sure it's some sort of ignition issue. If it cuts out and "pop's" it's probably a backfire due to an ignition miss. If it's fuel cut, it probably won't "pop".
This happened to me so I changed my plugs and it stopped. Probably just bad plugs. Have you changed them recently? Coppers go bad sooner than Iridiums, so if you're using copper, change to Iridiums. They'll last longer.

prolly start off my decreasing the gap on your plugs first to see if that helps - doesnt cost a thing... if that doesnt then try to do some logging (if you have the proper sensors installed) to investigate what might be creating the problem
I know what it is really, what boost are you running?? Do you tune with ECU flash, I know people call it fuel cut but its listed in ECU flash as boost cut, boost cut load, if you are running a boost controller and have it turned up a bit and running around once it hits that cut at WOT you get that cut, kick in the pants that it not fun, change your settings on this part of the ECU a little, but be careful this is where you can blow a head gasket or such, install a walbro 255 and make sure you are ready for the extra boost then change it little at a time, to some number like 265ish all the way down the board or what, that should be good for about 25lbs of boost or a little more if you are set up for more go more on the number, PM me with any questions anytime, love to help, already been there for myself so I understand. If you cant tune it get someone to help you or just lower your boost setting to about 20lbs or what not. Other than this check plugs even though they are good for along time with allot of power, If you are looking for plugs I know this great guy on ebay, 2 step colder for like 40.00 I think less, cant remember off head, I am ordering another set soon from him they have been great.
