Do a compression check. Looks like a valve or something broke and is inside that cylinder. The gap has been closed by something.

So something is down in the cylinder? No smoking car runs fine until the plug gets fouled of course, coolant is not disappearing, etc.. Maybe I need to pull the head and see wtf is going on

i heard of someone having a similar problem. his piston was coming apart, ring land chunks due to heavy detonation from new mods & old tune!

same thing, gap was closing by itself.....well....not really by itself!

If you take a look at the plug its smashed in bad. I just went and checked the piston I took the damn plug out. Nothing that I can see on top of the piston, stuck a magnet down in there and nothing came out just some metal shavings. My question is what would case the piston to come up higher than normal???

Anytime a plug is self gapped while it's in the cylinder, you need to stop running the car and pull the head.

That's never a good thing!

If you have access to a bore-o-scope you can try that out to see any large material still in the combustion chamber but regardless of that the head should still come off and be thouroughly inspected same as the piston etc.

Same thing happened to a friend years ago. Piston started coming apart at the top ring land. The chunks were closing the gap on the spark plug. DO NOT START THE ENGINE OR TURN IT OVER ANYMORE!

You need to pull the cylinder head off and see what the damage is. Im sorry to be the one to tell you but its pretty obvious something broke most likely the piston or valve. But if the valve had broke you would see more of a compression loss so my guess is pieces of the piston.

The piston is not coming up higher then it is supposed to its just the chunks sitting on top of the piston that is closing the gap that normally is there. I hope things work out and please keep us updated. If you need any help PM me and we can talk.
