Well I blew the motor (pics inside)

Happened at about 8300 rpm in 4th gear, looks like she went lean and egt's went through the roof, these are wiseco HD pistons. This was the number 4 piston...

The result was a melted piston

How lean did it get?

Fuel and boost level?

Sorry man, looks like that piston was looking for a way out the kitchen and came up short...

Yeah it sucks man, I was on straight pump gas (93) boost was 29-30psi. The wideband is built into my AEM. I don't have a gauge at the moment, which was completely my fault.

**** happens, though this probably could have been prevented if I had the actual gauge and caught it in time.

Any other signs of excessive heat on the head or other pistons?

All the other exhaust valves are ok?

Do you know what sort of airfuels you were targetting?

First time doing these sorts of boost levels and RPMs or was this regular usage with irregular outcome?

INTERESTED!

The other pistons actually looked fine, the afr's I was targeting were 11.2 mid range to 10.9 at redline.

Yes this was very regular with a irregular outcome, I really wonder if an injector failed. I need to test them..
