No Tensioner Tool! NEED HELP!

they mean using the cherry picker to keep tension on the gears so the timing wont slip ( I think)

You need around 8-9" of tool and the threaded part is only around 3" long.

You are trying to remove the accessory belt tensioner. That should be straight forward. Like the other guys said..without the tool you can just use a vise if you take the timing belt tensioner out of the car. Or before you remove it try to see if the wire will pass thru the hole (probably a long shot)

Did you remove the cam gears yet and slacken up the timing belt? Cause if not, you can still get away without doing all that stuff and zip tying the belt to the gears in a number of places. Remove the gears but keep tension on them. Remove the cams and just bolt the gears back on. As long as you didnt skip the timing belt and were careful, you shouldnt have to redo the timing or tension.

no the cams are already in and were working on getting to the tensioner itself....has anyone else had trouble getting part #4 off we heated it and PBblasted the hell out of it! its stuck! but everything is off but that so were continplating what to do about this

does the crank pulley come off or does the plastic sheild go around the pulley????

worst sanerio happened broke the tensioner on the serpintine belt bolt on the thread sooooo now we have to do some tapping and find a replacement bolt at 11:30pm

Too bad. I hope you can get it fixed. I've been putting long hours in on my build recently as well...I feel your pain.
