I dont think HKS makes a 3" exhaust. Im pretty sure most of their exhaust are 80mm which comes out to a little over 2.75"

does greddy? the owner said its hks or greddy but he said hes pretty sure its 3 inches so maybe the catback is hks and the downpipe is something else. if it was hks will it affect my power a lot? it was a california car so the previous owner probably wanted it as quiet as possible to not get in trouble

Im not sure about greddy but I think they also make 80mm exhausts. I doubt you'll lose much power from a 80mm exhaust with basic bolt ons.

Im pretty sure 80mm is 3" or a little more but thats usually the outside diameter. I dont know what the ID is on an 80mm exhaust but maybe someone with a greddy or hks exhaust can chime in and help you out.

Google:
"80mm to inches"

Result:
80 millimeters = 3.1496063 inches

Google does all the conversion stuff for you in case you didn't know

Ah so I may be wrong completely. I thought 80mm was roughly 3" or less OD, so the ID of a 80mm exhaust may be 3". I should've checked but for some reason I figured I didn't need to lol.

From your list it looks like your going with the AMS TBE. I'll be buying the same one but with a HFC and it's going to be for the JDM rear bumper fitment. I love the way it sounds and it also one of the only exhausts I can find that has an option to have an o2 bung welded to the DP for a wideband.

i was going to do ams but figured i cant afford it so i think i may just go with megan or something a little bit cheaper. you cant beat the price of the megan and it sounds pretty good.

I am also searching for a exhaust and after some search it seems that all japanese exhausts no matter what the size, tapers at the cat flange. Only the usa made products seems to be true 3 inches throughout.

Catback tapers. My Hks Ti Carbon tapers to about 2.75 at the cat.

Do yourself a Favor and just get a 3" exhaust from JUMP STREET(Dp back). Your Car will love you then. this lets change out the exhaust again is rather pointless you end up with a extra system your not gonna use that you have to end up selling. No telling how long that will take. Might as well do it right and get 3" the first go around
