DC3 Oil Catch can
If you are going to do the DC3 not two OCCs, I would just buy the can because you will need more than the 12' supplied with the hose kit. However, be fore warned that hosing is like $1.70 or something a foot and those hose clamps are like just under a dollar a pair. You could always try to get the hose kit and then buy a few extra feet of hose, the problem would then be proportioning four separate lines from a set of 12' and 8', but it might work that way.
Thanks again...so the DC3 comes with hose or you have to order the hose kit? It's kind of confusing on the website...pricing page lists the DC3 and hose kit separately but on the product page it says optional hose kit $20 but in parentheses it says with DC3 purhase...
DC3 I believe is $132 shipped. Standard finish is the black so specify if you want the polished cans like mine. I listed earlier in this thread... I think. Yes, $20 extra for the hose, or $152 shipped. Send him an email, he is very responsive.
nice & clean DC3 setup. pic helps a lot. my DC3 can has been sitting around for months already. was debating whether i should use it or not since mounting spots are limited but i guess i will. rite now i'm using a K&N breather filter for the one on the right side of engine. the pcv 1 to intake mani is still stock. i'll prolly go with ur mounting spot- between mini battery & intake. wat if the intake pipe doesnt hav the nippe for the DC3 tubing? just cap the DC3 nipple off? did u have to create ur own bracket or no? and the tube size is sumthin like 1/16" rite? Lmk wenever u get the chance, Thanks.
I am really unsure of what to do if the intake has no nipple, however, my speculation would be that you would simply being using that 'leg' of the catch can to catch what spills out of the right side of the valve cover as you are not collecting any 'blow-by' because the air is not routed back into the intake. That being said, I would also think you would want to leave the unused end uncorked as plugging it will cause pressure in the line and not allow the valve there to work as a breather. Just my logical guess on that.
Yes the bracket is home grown, I think it was just aluminum bar that was bent with a vice and filed to fit into my mini battery bracket.
I am unsure of what the tubing size is though 1/16th sounds correct. The tubing fit nicely on the Mitsubishi nipples but was reasonably difficult to slide onto the DC3. Apparently this sizing is done on purpose to prevent the tubing from blowing off. I used a little motor oil and hose clamps and it all went together okay.
Hope this helped, good luck.
