^ Hmmm, the BBK is sounding good.

I wonder How that would go on the sotck block (untill I can afford a 2.3L)..

What sort of power should I expect and what sort of spoolup? (See first post for current modifications)

Another thing I have not thought about untill now, is what about a BBK Full on a built 2.0L with Kelfords, Aluminium Rods, built head and a CR of 9.0:1 to 9.5:1? Get it to rev safely to 8500rpm every day. The motor would be very responsive to with the aluminium rods, light weight flywheel and a aluminium drive shaft.

Do you think I could achieve 22psi by at least 3200rpm and 24 ~ 26 psi by 3500rpm??

I am running sorta that combo. AMS 2.0L, Cossie head, Jun 264's on the stock turbo. It spools around 3400 for 21psi. I dont have any logs (tuner does) or dyno sheets as I just got 500miles on the new engine.

I can tell you this. The torque coming out of the turns is amazing. I can break my tires free mid-turn if I am not careful now. Stock wasnt like that.

^ Really?

Hmm, Im very interested in your setup.

Your not running meth or anything? 3400rpm seems almost laggy.. ?

You should shoot Chad Block(CBRD) a P.M. asking him your questions. I´m sure that he´ll steer you in the right direction with regard to your turbo choice.

The 2.0-Liter build that you have just outlined above sounds very responsive. You´ll want quick spool and transient response. Since it´ll be a 2.0-Liter, I´d tend to be inclined toward a BBK-Lite vs. the Full.

Another possible option on a 2.0-Liter motor might be to ask Chad if Blouch will configure the Lite or the Full with a 9.8 hotside instead of the laggier 10.5. I run a 9.0 hotside on my Green turbo and it spools to 23# by 3200 RPM. You lose a little topend power but the transient response and rate of spool are way better.

If you want to build a quick revving and spooling 2.0-Liter, then a higher static compression ratio, a high velocity porting job, and cam selection become extremely important. The GSC S1 cams are milder than the Kelfords, but are extremely spool friendly.

At any rate, talk to Chad Block, as he has a lot of experience and is running a succesful 2.3-Liter Time Attack Evo.

Pump gas 91. It seems a hair late to me too...but like I said...I dont have the logs or a dyno plot of the new engine yet. It is so hard to watch a gauge and the road at the same time.

I might borrow the laptop from work and hook it up tonight to see.

On a side note, I want the BBK full. The Cossie head and Jun cams completely changed this engine. The amount of fuel we added was surprising. In all reality, those are the only differences I did performance wise with the new build. I am not gaining anything over the stock 2.0l with the built 2.0l outside of stronger components.....well i guess I shouldnt say that. The balance shafts are out.

run 10:1 compression. also we know when you want spool at. but how much power do you "want" to have with the spool you are wanting?

i have some t25 and t3 options in mind

gt28rs,gt2871r? have you considered those options since they are dual ball bearing? the gt28rs would maxes out at about 350whp on fwd cars and the 2871r maxes at approx. 420 give or take on a fwd

i can put you in touch with someone that does a custom dual ball bearing t3t4 50 trim with a gt turbine wheel and it will flow about 50-52lbs per. min?

dual ball bearing will help a little with the spool but a lot more with the responsiveness of how the car reacts

to get what you are describing I would definitely do a stroker........have you considered stroking and boring to more than 2.3?

is the cbrd turbo that flows as much as a 50 trim possible to get with dual ball bearings?

There are at least two shops in Britain that can convert any standard, journal- bearinged 16G derived turbo, such as the BBK-Full, or BBK-Lite, as well as the Forced Performance Red, or any other 16G variant over to a ball bearinged center section.

Why are you suggesting extinct turbos such as the 50-Trim, and non-turbos such as the 28? Nobody runs that stuff anymore. You're just going to confuse the guy. A 50-Trim is just not capable of doing what he's looking for.

EDIT: Oops! Judging from your username, I guess that you are still running a 50-Trim.

*lol*

Im really looking for engine responce more then spool.

I have been thinking of the aluminium bottom end with 9.5:1 CR pistons to assist in spool, and to help with off boost drivablity.

Im still undecided on turbo selection due to the cost of the FP Green and the BBK Full. I may hold off a little longer..

Might add some water injection so that I can run the higher compression, and still run 22 ~ 25psi with good timing...

the BBK flows 49ish lbs min.

it has just made 445whp/410wtq on GSTs mustang dyno

would be fun on a 2.3

but I can always build you something t3 or t4.. let me know
