lemmy's 4g63 build so far..
so my timing belt tensioner **** the bed causing my tb to skip a bunch of teeth.
i was driving to work, on the highway around 3500 rpm- all of a sudden i hear multiple loud taps followed by what i can only describe as a handful of ball bearings passing through my engine. i immediately shut it down, towed it home etc..
here is the damage. valves hit pistons, valves shot, pistons shot, calender walls scored to the point that only an overbore can fix, and the head is ruined beyond repair.
motor coming out. i know, the cars filthy. sorry

to all of you fortunate enough to work out of a garage im envious, my car wont fit in my garage. i normally keep the evo in my neighbors garage, but i didnt want to trouble him with me doing the swap there. so out in the driveway it is.

Nice man. That sucks what happened, but this build will be worth it. When the expenses of rebuilding get to you, remember how much you're saving doing the swap yourself. Nice work so far.
Very interesting set up. I like it a lot. Most people on this forum go for huge numbers when they do a build. This looks like a good modest street set up with great spool up. congrats on the set up man, good luck!

thanks man, i was looking for something that revs nice and is reliable.. and to be honest, a mid 300hp car is fast enough for me who dosnt have that much seat time on the track yet.
id much rather focus my money and time on suspension, brakes and most of all my driving! lol. which at this point could definitely use some work.

I dont autox but I do hit up the 1/4 mile usually. I usually head up to epping on test and tune days. Ive been to Ohio, New Jersey, and well be going to Maryland for Imports vs. Domestics.
I live in woonsocket with my fiancee atm. Plan to be moving at the end of the year. Hopefully getting a house.
My fiancee' takes my car and is always racing people. Thats why I was curious. She has raced another black evo obviously not you though.

i think ive seen you on 146 before, i was in my subi, but i remember a tb wingless evo with ri plates. nice to know someone around here with an evo, i dont see many. well have to get up when im back on the road.
It is a wingless black evo with stock black wheels. But I have a CT license plate. Along with a black frount mount. My car is down right now with a bent harmonic dampner. Or un balanced. All I know is its wobbling really bad making the crank sensor all f*ed up.
Got a bnib fluid ampr from a member here. Should be here thursday. Then I still need to buy a cam sensor because I think the vibrations made it fail.
