ACD Removal

So here is my question. I am currently wanting to get rid of my acd pump from my 06 MR. For weight and also for room on my intercooler piping. So can I remove this and just keep fluid in the transfer case and drive like normal?
I will be swapping out later to a non ACD transfercase when I upgrade one.
Peoples input would be great.

I know that but I'm spending way to much money on this build already and I really dont want to spend the money on one yet.

Then leave the pump in until you put a non acd case in there. Start saving up. On the bright side once you but the non acd case you can sell the old case and pump to recoup your money.

There is no room for the pump due to the size of my intercooler piping 3.5" on the cold side.

Yes I am thinking that may need to happen, what will happen if the 06 one is used and just plugged off with the fluid inside.

It becomes an open diff and you do sweet front wheel burnouts until the drivetrain catches up. You have to either run it or go to a non ACD...no in between...OR relocate the pump assembly like the rally cars do.
