So reading through the threads i was looking for exact weight reduction from removing ACD pump,bracket, lines, and going with a non ACD case. All i have been able to find is a 25lbs weight reduction simply removing the pump. Does anyone have a exact weight reduction for removing the case, brackets, lines, and having a non acd case? I know the non acd case has to be lighter due to the fact it isnt filled with ACD fluid and clutch packs for the ACD. Ive dug through the weight reduction thread with no luck. If anyone knows please share the wealth.

Well if anyone is interested, i weighed my car before and after, the diff was about 30lbs.

 

Good to know. I too am a fan of the 04 RS non-acd transfer case.

 

Did you compare the weight of the tcases? I feel like a lot of the weight is in the pump and reservoir. The viscous coupling isn't exactly light..

 

That 30lbs sound about correct, when you add the pump, pump bracket, relay, wiring, acd ECU, hard lines, soft lines, nuts bolts and other hardware.


But the transfer case alone would not be much, 5-10lbs, depends if you are talking the open diff or the LSD diff.

 

Exactly, that was the total weight savings after everything was removed.
