I also took my EGR valve off and cleaned it, and the code still comes back, so I'm in the same boat as you!
I just haven't had the time yet to take it in to have them check the solenoid and the valve to see if they are functioning properly.
You can use evoscan to clear the code, but if it comes back, something is still wrong (either the valve or solenoid probably doesn't work).

If you go and you fell under the egr valve...if your facing the engine bay its gonna be on the drivers side under the throttle body your gonna have to rach under the cross brace and under the TB and feel you should be able to feel the 2 nipples on the egr and possibly a the hose that has come off and is throwin the code this is a common problem when boosting over 20psi because mitsu. didnt flange the nipple or put a clamp of some sort on it. If this is the problem slide the hose back on there put a zip tie on there to hold it on or a clamp of some sort zip ties are your best friends with vacum lines. your gonna have to get an OBDII reader to clear the code. Good luck..if you need anymore help there are hundreds of threads on the code i think its like p4401 or somethin like that.
, oh well. I managed to install a new TB gasket thought
I got this code in my car but my EGR is not hooked up to anything, it just happened the other day when I changed my bov from oem to the forge rs (still run as recirculating though, not vta) Any ideas why this happened? The EGR hasnt ever been hooked up since Ive had the car and I never had this code before. Its still wired in, though its just ziptied off to the side on a bracket hangin on for the ride lol.
Ok so I read around a bit more and the problem that caused the code to be thrown is supposedly that the vac line blew off the EGR valves nipple (the piece that sits next to the throttle body and on the intake mani). I went outside to check and sure enough, the vac line was not attached to the egr valve.
However, I am not sure if this line is supposed to be attached or not due to the fact that my EGR is not plugged into anything (the solenoid piece that has the two little nipples on it up by the intake). I never had a code for the EGR before and the EGR has not been used on my car since the last owner and myself!
Is the vac line still supposed to be on the EGR valve even though it is not in use, or should I leave it disconnected?
