People who run without an oil cooler, please chime in.

Is it ok to run without an oil cooler and DD your car?

I was going to fork out a couple hundred for a oil cooler setup but I've heard some people run without one, so contemplating on doing it.

Why would you want to remove the oil cooler? Pros/Cons?

Not sure what you mean. Your car comes with an oil cooler that works very well. Do you want to remove it for drag racing purposes or do you want to buy a better one for Auto-X?

I'm with Bruno.... You'd take off the OE cooler? I can't see any benefit to that.

In my case I ate an engine and didn't want to fork over the cash for a new oil cooler. I ran without one last summer with no problems before I picked up a new one. I also ran without one on my old DSM for several years, with numerous passes and a road course day.

Anyone have any pros/cons for this? I'm not looking to take mine off, just interested in hearing in what others have found

Remove it?!? I was thinking of upgrading it, as well as run seperate ones for the power steering, trans and transfer case. I like to road race though

Mine's been off since 2 months ago. My car is daily driven as well...oil pressure stays rock steady, don't see a decrease at all. As far as how it's done, I bought a couple of block off plugs from Buschur.

Another pro I saw in removing it was minimizing the sources of possible oil leaks.

I spun a bearing on my old motor and I got new motor now, of course not using the same oil cooler.

Can anyone give some information on their oil cooler removal setup and pictures if possible.

thanks
