Thanks Kracka, I will look into it. I've heard that they can get clogged really quick around here, and since I have to drive 2 miles on a dirt road to get to work, its deffinately a concern but I think it should be alright if I clean it once every 2 weeks! Thanks again

Just a mini FYI, I spoke with Green Filters, turns out they are the ones who Buschur actually goes to for filters

OMG I just installed a Amsoil air filter with a Perrin intake pipe on my friend's IX today (no trimming)

An oiled foam filter will hold quite a bit more dirt than pretty much any other filter. This is due to the thicker multi-density foam design. The benefit the dry Amsoil filter has is the ease of cleaning, simply blast it from the inside with and air compressor (of course you need an air compressor with correct fitting to do this). Decent article worth reading: http://perrinperformance.com/pages/show/129

I really wish Perrin make an intake for the X, or at least a filter that fit my AFE

I may try the Amsoil next time knowing that it fits now, but that may be a while since I bought a cleaning kit for the green filter.

What was the part # for the amsoil air filter that you guys used to test? Was it EaAU4560? Should fit the stock bay fine

NPNP, I found it - the one that fits cars with ACD etc is EaAU4560; 4.5" ID and 6" tall, should be riight there, and similar in dimensions to the green and k&n

I bent my ACD forward out of the way until it was almost touching the front cross member. I used two zip ties one attached to the intercooler pipe above and one to the MAF clamp to lift the MAF upward to take the weight off the ACD reservoir and the wires:

I was stock.

You guys told me I wouldn't need to tune for this and you were right. It drives perfectly, without issue. It sounds badass (you can really hear the whoosh of the intake and the pshhh of the BOV). It seems to breath a little better down low (less lag) and pull a little harder up top.

This was the first mod I did myself, satisfaction rating = 8 out of 10.

Don't unbolt the MAF from the airbox until you remove the whole assembly from the car (by unscrewing the single screw holding the MAF clamp on and removing all the nuts holding the air box in place). So you don't break their anchors, tap the nuts on the MAF with a small hammer to break them loose before unscrewing them.

I got that all from this install how to:
http://www.evomoto.com/tech_info.php...cf59d810ea88c2

Also, I called the Vibrant guys in Canada to double check about the stock gasket already on the MAF inlet between the MAF and the airbox. You DO leave it in place, the Vibrant gasket seals against the stock gasket. They answered their phones 15 minutes after closing time (I was in the middle of it) and got me an answer in minutes. Good people.

BTW, anyone think it will cause me problems having a little downward force on the intercooler piping like that?

I'd be more concerned about it pulling on it when the engine rocks back and fourth and or eventually cutting into a coupler or the accordian tube. The stock UICP will also raise quite a bit when it fills with boost. It sounds strange but watching it when the car is on the dyno is pretty wacky.

I'd probably just let it hang.
