My evo 9 keeps juking from second to fifth? any suggestions on what to do?

I have a evo with 34 thousand miles on it and everytime i gun it n every gear other than first it feels lik the clutch is slipping. the rpms build n n then once it reaches 5 or 6K its jukes like a fuel cut off n then goes back normally n then does it again if i dont switch gears. It also makes a popping sound kind of coming from the exhaust but i had just purchased an 02 dump and im not sure if that is wat is giving the problem? plz i really need help

sounds odd. Well if you're still on the stock clutch with 34k more than likely it's going out. The popping might be because you're clutch is slipping so bad and you're allowing the car to rev so high.

It could be your spark plugs, that happened to me. It would be fine in a pull in 1st gear, but in 2 through 5, it would be fine from 3k till 5.5kRPM, and then at 6k a loud POP and then the car just kinda coasted fora couple seconds, then came back on strong.

Whats your mod list? You may have to go one step colder on the plugs...I went to Denso IKH24's.

+1 if it pops and like stalls like it doesnt want to move sounds like spark plugs.. but check clutch too to be safe..

I didn't even think about the spark plugs. Definately sounds like it's breaking up. Just had to replace my spark plugs when this happened.

Excatly.

I'm guessing you should be one step colder than stock too, judging by your modlist!

Uhh, sounds like boost cut to me.

O2 dump being the mod that was last changed, will change exhaust back pressure and in turn give added boost pressure.

Turn the boost down to around 20psi max just to see if it still does it.

If he never upped his boost a MBC or EBC, I doubt it would be a boost cut. Then again, if he never upped his boost, I doubt it would be the plugs either...

Do the clutch test in 5th. Drive at around 45mph in 5th and the floor it...rpm should go really slow and then when 4500/5000krpm or thereabouts it should jump(clutch final grabbing)

This all happened after the 02 dump install?
