Cloudy Whiteish Smoke, Burning smell??

So here's the deal:

I recently changed my oil to amsoil, 0w30 and oil change was normal and car has been running just fine. I've driven less than 500 miles with this oil, but that ranges from daily short trips to two 100 mile highway trips. Nothing has been wrong with the car until now.

I've been reading threads on how the smell is very distinct, etc., but honestly I can't tell. It smells almost like burning plastic or wax or something, and the smoke does seem to be more billowy than usual. I am running a test pipe, so I wasn't even thinking about the smoke until I started smelling the burning.

I'm hearing that it could be anything, but I'm trying to pinpoint it. It first started today, when I left the car out for about 5 hours in near 0 degree weather while I was at work. I always let the car warm up for a couple minutes before I drive, and I only noticed the smell when I parked in my garage and let the car idle. I didn't bring my car above 3k rpms. Car runs perfectly fine and engine temp is also fine. After the car cooled down, the oil level did seem a little lower, but I'm not sure it matches the description of the smoke it would be for oil burning. Can anyone describe the smell of burning oil?

What are the signs of burning coolant? I heard I'd see it in my oil, but I don't really see/can't tell anything is different there, and the car is running just fine.

Also, I'm reading that it could have something to do with having ARP headstuds? But I had mine put in by AMS, so I'm not really worried there.

There was also a slight smell of gasoline on the dipstick every once in a while that I would check. Does this have anything to do with it?

I'm going to bring it to the dealer tomorrow, but I don't even know what they're going to say to all the mods I have on my car. Hopefully they can just run a diagnostic or whatever and find out what exactly is going on.

Anyone have a clue, or experience something similar?

hahaha, I run the 0-30 sso in my stroker. Ever since I started using that particular oil, I have had major oil usage, faint oil smoke (blue), and I always smell "something" that I cant quite point out. I had no issues when using straight 30 wt under break in.

When cold, I always see white smoke out the tail pipe, which should be normal since newer vehicles combustion cycle produces water vapor, and when cold that vapor with show to be white. (please correct me if I am wrong in that thinking)

I plan switching to amsoil 10-30 this time and seeing how that works, if it doesnt, I am ditching Amsoil.

In zero degree weather most cars with cats stink. Wait until the weather is warmer before you decide something is wrong.

Gas in the oil is usually a sign of short trips where the engine doesn't have time warm and boil the gas off. If the gas smell in the oil is strong, change the oil.

That's what I am pointing out. Cars with cats will run so rich in very cold weather that the cat can't burn off all the hydrocarbons. Without a cat the exhaust is going to smell worse.

Sounds like you could have a bad headgasket...if AMS did your headstuds I doubt they did the 1x1 method. What you are describing is early symptoms of a bad headgasket.
