do you have cams? It is impossible to get my car to idle and drive well with any metal pipe. i tried the ralliart and the hks rs pipe and none of them worked. I have a ball bearing FP red and m2 cams with a bunch of other mods but i think the turbo is what messes up the maf readings. the car drives and idles well only with the stock pipe.

The PPI pipe seems like a great choice to me!

+1...... going up hills with the ETS kit at 1/4 throttle and I pulled my hair out.

Get the perrin its working for me. just make sure you wipe the filter off good inside and out.

Can anyone here confirm that the PPI intake pipe has no idle issues?

ETS intake has to be tuned like any intake to work. The MAF requires a little rescaling but nothing difficult.

Tephra - keep in mind that the Amsoil filter is 6" long. A 5" K&N filter just clears the ACD reservoir on 05-06 cars.

Thanks for your expert advice.

I am impressed if you feel MAF scaling to be so elementary. It isn't rocket science but it is definitely not for the novice tuners.

Well lets see, 4 tuners were not able to get it scaled right. (They're on the forum and HIGHLY recommended by others). Amazing you would consider them novice.

It's not the MAF scaling is elementary, it's that I didn't see the need to do that crap (for a year) for such minimal power.

Worthless post. My original post was not meant to be sarcastic. I have the ETS intake. My car drives fine. I self tune. All my car needed besides basic AFR and timing adjustments was a MAF rescale at idle. If your car has issues despite such measures, then there may be something else wrong, like the BOV.

What is the big difference between the hks and the perrin filter elements? I understand that they are both form and after a while it is recommended to change out the hks element but is this true for the perrin too?; how good does the perrin actually filter compared to a tradition paper filter? I have a helix intake now and is thinking of changing it.

The Perrin filter is a Uni filter I believe. Cleanable and reusable. HKS is disposable.

Maybe the hard intake pipe will get tephra motivated on the speed density project .

Still haven't seen any proven gains with replacing the intake pipe.... MAF adapter, good cone filter and tune shows gains but stock tube vs aftermarket is probably negligible. Not worth the cost in my opinion.
