porting ?

I bought a used ported exhaust manifold from a member on here. I was just wondering how can I tell if it was ported or not? The manifold, like I said, is used and the runners aren't very clean on the inside. I believe what the seller told me, I'm just wondering.

Maybe get some carb cleaner, spray and clean out the runners then see if they are smooth. Just a thought.

Hold the outlet gasket up to the flange, if the holes on the manifold are the same size as the gasket it's ported.

Measure a stock manifold and then the one you have and compare the numbers. Not everyone who ports manifolds does a gasket match. Since the ports on a stock head are smaller than the gasket, it would actually rob power if you gasket match and mount it to a stock, unported head. If you need a stock one to measure I am in NC and can lend you a hand.

Notice I said "outlet flange", meaning the turbo to manifold side, not the head side. If you're not gasket matching the outlet, there's no point.
