MAF delete?

Is there a way to eliminate MAF using stock ECU on EVO?
In my other car ( Porsche 993 TT) there is a work on the ECU that substitute the MAF to a MAP...
Can this be done to the EVO?
Thanks a lot.

Check the EcuFlash forums, there's a lot written about that there. And yes, it's possible.

The MAFT box works, but the only problem is the resolution of the GM maf...it's really not the greatest for a blow-through and will show variances, but it works. GM themselves only intended for their maf's to be used as a draw through setup, and even at that once they reached a certain airflow everything switched to a speed density approach anyway.

There was some progress made for a while as to converting the stock ecu to a speed density system, but there honestly seems to be too many unknown variables yet in the ecu's as well as too many fixed variables being used to roughly patch the MAF to a MAP setup.

So in short, no...there is nothing yet. Even if there was I wouldn't use it just yet in case there were bugs in the programming. For a SD setup it looks like a stand alone is still your only option.

They should have made the evo like they did the SRT-4. The oxygen sensor to be used for closed loop operations and then a MAP sensor during open loop.

It would be nice, there is work being done currently on a map patch of sorts that allows the map sensor to control the vacuum and idle portion, and the maf to take over during cruise and boost. Some have had decent success with this with only minor bugs to work out.
