external wastegate on stock turbo

hey guys i no its a weird subject with mixed feelings but i was thinking of trying an external wastegate setup on my stock turbo... i believe that the ix is a twin scroll so i cant just make one hole in the manifold to tap for the wastegate, but f i made two holes(one on each exhast side) and then made a Y pipe tat connected those two holes to on 44mm wastegate, do you think that would work??? and what do i do about the factory flapper??

please any hlp would be greatful thanks guys let me know what u think

I have been thinking of building an 02 housing with a provision for an external wastegate. In my idea you would remove the factory flapper just like a Dsm bolt on turbo and let the external gate take it's place. I am curious if anyone has tried this yet?

Do a search, there is a pretty big thread about this subject, and the feller that made it even posted some pics of his o2 housing.

Have you compared the sound(s) emitted by an open dump O2 housing compared to the sound of the remote(external) gated turbo? I think that you would get most of the noise at considerably less expense by going with an open dump O2.

Yea mine isn't as raspy as the 02 dumpts and compared to the 02 dump that opens at 11lbs, mine opens at 21lbs. I don't think this is going to be that expensive since you can do the fab work yourself.
