if you have dyno graphs before and after install, i would like to see them... just for speculation of course...

I have preloaded my stock WGA with the integral WG to 21#. I just don't see the stock WGA preloaded to 21# as being much different from an external gate set at 21#, IF they both have to pass through the same restrictive wastegate bypass port in the 16G's turbine housing. To prove me wrong, show me the comparative dyno plots!

i think the would also only gain power at a lower rev. and stress the turbo much more then its intended to be.

I've run internal gate with o2 dump and external gate on my DSM, sound identical to me.

As indicated previously, you can pre-load the actuator or get a higher pressure actuator to adjust the cracking point. Going through the headache of converting to an external gate on a stock type turbo is just pointless for 99% of the people running them.

A question is why go external if your still using the internal gated turbine housing (the limiting factor). The internal WG area adds turbulence to the scroll inlets, just might defeat any purpose of fitting an external. Who knows? Just a thought though

if you run it the way i want to and the way rev made his then you don have the area that the internal wastegate used to flow to, that all omes out and a flange is welded roght over the flapper whole and the flapper is removed
