what caused this to blow out???
Why did you replace the head gasket last time? Just because it's running low boost doesnt mean it can't lift the head. The head / block surface may not be flat and you didnt get a good seal when you replaced the head gasket.
Sounds like it could be a side effect of what ever caused you to change the head gasket the first time. If it pressurized the coolant system then it could have loosened the freeze plug and just taken a little while for it to pop out.

I did not "burp" the system but once it was I was finished with the install I filled the system to the top and started car till operating temp so the thermostat open and then added the necessary coolant to top it off
in order to correctly fill the coolant system you have to jack the front of the car up, and buy a coolant filler funnel that sits where the coolant cap goes and you can fill untill the coolant stops bubbling up. then you know youve gotten all the air out
good luck with your rebuild

you had an air bubble in your system that flashed and popped out your freeze plug, i did the same thing when i first finished my build and i popped a freeze plug after a week of driving, luckily it was one on the front of the block and i caught it immediately. I replaced the freeze plug and filled with coolant and burped the system, have not had a problem for 4k miles now.

thanks a lot. I have come to the conclusion that’s prolly what it was also just a missed air pocket in the system. I also appreciate all your help and info
if you're head got lifted, chances you head is warp, sometime you can't see it. the only way to find out is to take the head to machine shop and have it checkout and deck.
