Not 100% sure this is the right spot for this question, but I'm figuring more people check this section than the others. With that out of the way, here goes:
I just bought a MoTeC MDC (the programmable ecu for the ACD system). It comes with 4 different programs pre-done, plus a 0% lock and a 100% lock, but I know that additional testing/setup will be needed to optimize it for my car setup (front & rear diffs & power levels). I'm just curious if anyone on here has any experience playing with these systems and if you've got any words of wisdom to share with how to optimize the settings.

The only problem for dirt racers, is that typically dirt varies much more than pavement, and in my case, the dirt test tracks around here bear no resemblance to the dirt found on Pikes Peak.
So, I figure I'll need to have a clear idea of how changes effect the handling, as I'll only have a few chances to tweak the setup during PPIHC week.I'm shooting to have the car up on the ice tracks at the Bridgestone Winter Driving School (www.winterdrive.com) in the middle of February in hopes of getting a handle on how to tweak the unit, and since swapping from the stock ACD ECU to the MoTeC one takes all of 2 minutes, I'm sure I'll be doing some back-to-back testing...with Chase Cam video, and I just sent it out to get the G-Force upgrade, so I might even be able to get some good info from that too.

Ryan basically said that its a bit of trial and error to get the system functioning in a way that will suit each driver. Unfortunately there's no sliver bullet for setting these things up. It sounded like if you can get a couple hours out at a track you'll be able to dial it in.

I know you use this primarily for rally but I'm wondering what 4 different preset programs are like.. Interested in something that allows for more stock like turn in and then more aggressive lock on throttle - Gruppe-S's ACD reflash is a good starting point but too much lock on turn in, this sounds a lot more customizable

I haven't had much opportunity to mess with the diff controller other than swapping maps.
One thing you'll notice is that many of the maps are similar at some speeds, but vary as speed increases. This means if you're testing facility has lots of 20-50 mph corners, it'll be hard to find out what you think of the maps at 100mph. For example on the provided maps, Tarmac and Gravel both have identical tables under accelleration, but under braking & throttle, the maps change once you're above 40% throttle.
Based on what you're asking for, I think the MoTeC may be your best bet.

Dave or Ryan, i don't know who can help me with this question but what is better to improve the understeer on long curves with full throttle: an agressive LSD like Cusco or soft like Quaife or a Motec acd ecu with the oem front diff? Thanks for your answer
On long sustained corners where you're full throttle, you're shifting weight to the back outside wheel. This means you're also shifting weight off the front tires, so which is compounding the natural understeer tendencies of a front heavy car.
I've not had great luck with the Cusco or Carbonetic rear diff (blew them both up when being used in rally conditions i.e. jumping), but have had good luck with the rebuild 12-plate diff that ShepTrans did for me.
Sounds like you don't want to mess with the front diff, so the rear diff could be a good place to start if you've already tried messing with suspension damping, tire pressures, and sway bars. A diff flash or motec mdc can also make sure you're making the most of the center diff.
