BBK or DBB?
BBK or DBB?
Gents, can I get some input/opinions on these two turbos, how they compare?
DBB 60-1
BBK Full
I'm planning to stay stock engine, and run a meth kit full-time. How will each of these units perform?
Any feedback is appreciated, I have a friend looking to sell a 60-1 dbb and I was considering the BBK Full for the driveability, but he says the dbb is not laggy at all, and I believe him, I'm just wondering how they compare in terms of power curve... I don't really want to rev beyond the stock cut-off, and I plan to just run stock ECU, so what say you guys?
Oh, I also plan to do basic bolt-ons and like GSC-1 cams. Basic bolt ons being big FMIC, hard pipes, boost pill upgrade, CAI, ported exhaust mani, 02 housing + tbe (race pipe), for the power mods. Suspension is a different story...

Well, like I said it's not that I'm trying to compare them like apples to apples, I know they're vastly different in their power delivery and potential, but a buddy has a dbb 60-1 that he's offering me and I'm trying to decide between that and a new bbk full.
Thanks for the feedback so far guys, all of it is appreciated.

So let me ask this a different way, does anyone know about when full boost comes in with a dbb 60-1, and what the top-end potential is on a stock engine with the stock rev limit?
I know the BBK comes on faster than stock, especially between gears, so it's got me drooling... I just want to thoroughly consider what my friend is offering as well.

The 60-1 flows 60lbs and is probaly the worst spooling T3 Turbo you can get for an EVO... If your after faster spool in the T3 .63 range of turbos the the 50lbs T3/T4E 50Trim is probably your best option...
Its all about how much HP you want to make and where you want to make it...
hope that helps...

I've extensively read about the BBK Full and pound for pound it's pretty darn good for what it's intended purposes are. It doesn't compare to the FP Red obviously but since you're comparing it to the 60-1 which flows roughly the same as the FP Red. Price is another thing as the BBK can be purchased brand new for $1800 and don't have to worry about anything else. What is the 60-1 being sold for and then I'd ask what your friends intentions are for his car (i.e. - why is he selling it). Bottom line, I'd say that you can't go wrong with the BBK Full. I believe in what is has shown but I'm still partial to the stock IX turbo.
bbk+meth is a good option too.
look at what GST made on e85 with the bbk 446whp i believe... pretty stout on a mustang dyno with bolt ons...
the BBK will make a HUGE area under the curve

Solid advice guys, I'm convinced, I was leaning BBK already but my friend said the dbb had very little noticeable lag. Then again my friend has never driven a bbk.
BBK + meth is my road to victory! =]
Thanks again everyone, I'll be sure to throw up dyno sheets when the job gets done, probably not for a couple months though, I'm going to collect my bolt-ons first.
