Installing Cams do I need new Timing Belt and Tensioner

So I've got about 45K miles on the evo 8, going to get M2 cams and FP springs installed here soon. Should I replace my timing belt, tensioner and balance shaft belt while I'm at it. or should I save that when I need to do the water pump. BTW when does Mitsubishi recommend I do my water pump?

If it were me.. I can't see any reason not do it all at once. Save yourself time and headache. I'd rather be early than late on a timing belt.

you dont have to...60k your ok....dont do it ahead of time, the only thing you might want to look into is the greddy non-stretch belt. other then that, wait for 60k

You are getting there. If you plan on keeping the Evo and don't think you'll be accessing the timing cover area again in the near future I would recommend just taking care of the Timing Belt now while you are in there.

Probably makes sense to do the timing belt now, by the time I get my cam's in my car I'll be closer to 50K miles

So what do I need to do the timing belt?

- Timing Belt
- Balance Shaft Belt
- Timing Belt Tensioner
- Water Pump & Gaskets

Anything else? Should I replace my Serpentine belt at the same time?

Thought about getting this Timing belt kit, anyone know how much power the stock oem belt is good to? I don't plan on going past 500 whp once I get my FP Red.

Thanks

Id definatly do the belt now makes no sense to take it back apart in 10K miles. I would if it were me replace the tensioner now . $80 bucks now for a or a couple of hundred if it fails for new valves. After you get it back together rotate the engine 2 times clockwise and recheck your timing marks before starting. It will give the tensioner a chance to take up the slack in the belt also.

I got a timing belt, balancer belt and all pulleys changed recently, but tensioner B - part MD115976 was wrong according to my mechanic for Lancer Evolution 5 GSR. The part that they had sent me is much thicker and slightly diff shape. He also told me that the tensioner B used by my engine is the same as on EVO 8.
