Anyone else notice the 4.11 final drive in the trans?

Should give you what...another 5-7 mph out of every gear?

I'd like to see you swap the standard 1000cc injectors to a set of those new Bosch saturated 1000c injectors to see how you feel they change idle and driveability behavior.

Sorry, I edited the price on the shortblock, that was the price of a 2 liter that I had up there originally. It's fixed.

Compression. We have ALL of our pistons for the EVO's custom made by JE. We do not use any shelf pistons. I have used them in the past, they all work well but what fun would it be to use what everyone else can get?!

Our 2 liters are 8.8:1 compression same as stock compression.

Our 2.3's run more. The standard build is 9:1 and then we have another piston that is about 10.5:1. I've run higher than that.

I don't have an answer for the "ideal" compression ratio. It depends on the build. The cams (as they effect cylinder pressure beyond the compression ratio), the intercooler, exhaust, turbine housing, turbo and of course the fuel.

I have seen some big numbers from higher compression 4G63's on pump gas at boost levels I didn't think were possible. I have seen some results that boggled my mind actually.

There is a lot to the actual design of the piston too and the combustion chamber work.

The last thing you want is to put together an engine that is very prone to detonation.

So bottom line is I can't give an ideal compression ratio. The normal 2 liter and stroke piston we use, I would say is the right choice for 99% of the guys running an EVO.

The quickest and fastest times our black car ever ran was on our normal Stage 3 build with our standard 2 liter piston in it.

The engine that is in Mike @ AWDMotorsports street RS is our normal 2 liter too and it went 8's on a T3.

At 7500 RPM, it will add another:

1st gear - 4.3 mph
2nd - 6.5
3rd - 9
4th - 12.3
5th - 17.7
