Front motor mount bolt.. question on size

Does anyonoe have a pic or info on the diameter of the front motor mount bolt. Reason I ask is I was looking at mine today (because I plan to put a Blox mount in soon) and I noticed the bolt that was in my car is much smaller in diameter in comparision to the bushing hole on the motor mount itself. I'm not sure I've got the correct bolt at this point.

That bolt looks a little rusty but the bolt u have is the oem size front mount bolt. Mine is the same size bolt. Just center the bolt in the hole when you torque it down.

Not sure why mitsu chose a smaller diameter bolt for the larger motor mount hole?

Bump, I'm reinstalling my oem mount and like the OP stated the bolt is much smaller than the oem mount hole? This is normal? Won't there be slop and metal rattle from the bolt shifting around in the hole?

Why all these bolt size questions when there are Service Manuals in PDF format all over the net?

The bolt is smaller. It eases assembly because that hole doesn't always line up perfectly. It won't be sloppy because of the clamping force applied to the bracket onto the sleeve in the bushing by the bolt.

Do you have a link to one of these manuals?

Do the manuals show bolt sizes? I don't think they do, unless I've looked in the wrong parts.

This is the correct answer. The bolt squeezing the bracket is what holds the mount in place.

/\/\ Correct. If you are truly worried about slop, get an aluminum sleeve of the correct od /id and use that to eliminate play on there. BUT it will be tricky to line up as others have said.

It will be nearly impossible. My car is hard enough to line up with the stock bolt having "room" and and aftermarket motor mount..

Just a little heads up, when you go to install the front engine mount undo the 3 bolts that hold the cross member on before you try sliding the mount bolt through the mount. Doing this makes it very easy to get the bolt in then once it's through the hole in the mount you just need to nip up the three bolts on the cross member and you're done.
