fuel pump setup

Is a double Walbro 255lph fuel pump kit really necessary???
plan on running around 25-28psi. I want to go with the best from the start and a single Walbro 255lph should do the job right??.. or is the double Walbro 255lph the way to go?

well you kinda left out everything that is important

turbo?
type of fuel?
additives (meth/alky)?

if we are talking pump gas and a stock turbo...a single walbro will be fine...a little searching could have told you that

No you're fine without a double pumper.

Some say that the single Walbro is good to around 500 whp. I may be below that but I'm going to a double pump setup for nothing more than the assurance that I won't run out of fuel later on. Kinda like doing a Walbro on a stock turbo, stock boost car. Doesn't really need it but it's cheap insurance.

Single Walbro with FIC1050 is plenty for a car on Meth. Beyond 500awhp, look into the double-pumper from Buschur.

I too think you will be fine with a single walbro and some large injectors. Plus when mixed with meth your injector duty cycle is lowered so your chances of maxing out the pump and injectors is reduced.
