Unhappy Need help with 6th gear issue on IX MR

With my searching I found no definitive answer to my question, so here it goes:
very slight trouble going into 5th gear, considerable trouble and effort to get it into 6th gear (and from going back into 5th gear from 6th). Problem started right after Exedy twin disc was installed, but it has been awhile since then and I have been trying to live with it... but I really dont want to have to. Does this sound like something that can be cured by either clutch pedal adjustment or installing metal shifter bushings? Or does it sound like something worse and more costly that would require disassembling the tranny? Any input is appreciated (aside from suggesting I swap to a 5 speed! I definitely cannot afford that right now)
Thanks!

That sounds like an adjustment issue. Have you played with the adjustment screw?

I have not yet... been too cold to check it out! I'm hoping thats all it is! Since it has been happening only since the Exedy twin install it makes me think and hope its just an adjustment issue, but after the horror stories I have read on here I have to ask! don't want for it to get stuck in 6th and lock me out and be stranded somewhere lol

Do you have any other gears with the same problem?

5th gear can be slightly tricky to get into, but not really that bad.

This is the new common failure with the 6 speed (other than 4th gear). There are a few of us that have gone through this and what it is is the 5/6 hub slider is burred and needs replaced.

time for a rebuild

You could try the fluid I sell and see if that helps. I'm not suggesting that to move product, but it's cheaper than a rebuild to see if the fluid helps.

It may not, and Aaron is probably right...but I am just offering that as an option. I have 103,000 miles on my 6 speed and I attribute that to the fluid I run.

Thanks I may try the fluid if you think it would ease it into gear a lot better, but the damage is already done if it is the hub slider, which sounds like it is. Just read part of the thread in your sig, I might be hitting you up in the next couple days and give that a shot- even if it helps for now until I can eventually afford a built 5 speed. Was your notchiness in 2nd bad, like to the point where it took about 2 seconds or more just to get it into gear?

Thought of something else weird my tranny does- going along with the 6th gear issues, if its in 6th gear and I roll to a stop it won't engage any of the other gears except 5th... so instead of popping it out into neutral and then putting it into 1st I have to basically go backwards into 5th and sometimes 4th, etc.
Does that correlate with the hub slider issue? Or is that a separate clutch engagement issue maybe?

I do, but with gas the way it is it may be cheaper for me to ship it.

Normally shipping is $15 (and sometimes I lose money on that depending on where people live).

I run Redline Heavyweight in my TC, Redline 75W-90 oil in my rear diff. Mobil 1 in the engine and the Castrol SynTorq LT in the tranny. I plan on running Amsoil in the engine after I build it

Everytime I started the car, when I pulled out of my condo and went down the street it would grind going into 2nd like clockwork. Annoyed the hell out of me. So I started looking for alternatives. Found the SynTorq LT at about 12,000 miles (IIRC) and have never looked back. It worked so well for me, I thought I'd offer it to others.

We run about a 80% favorability rating on the fluid. A few have said they didn't like it, but for me (and others) it's golden.

I have modded my car ever since about 2,000 miles on it and now have 102,400+ (just checked on the way home...thought I was over 103,000). Still going strong.
